The Buttercups room is a home away from home calm, fun loving atmosphere. The children enjoy learning through play to help develop their skills and they enjoy discovering their environment around them.
We start our room by sitting together in the book corner and saying hello to our friends. we go through some animal recognition and counting. We then finish by singing songs or reading a story.
We enjoy getting messy and encourage the children to self-select what they would like to play with. We enjoy exploring sand, water, paint and shaving foam as well as sticking, chalking, using the crayons and the dabber pens to make marks and be creative.
We enjoy a variety of Sensory Play such as exploring the ribbons, watching the CDs twist round, playing peek a boo with the scarves and watching the bubble light turn different colours.
We play with the cars, farm animals, building towers using the wooden blocks and exploring the different sounds musical instruments make.
We sit together during snack time where we have a choice of milk or water and a selection of yummy snack.
Before Lunch we sit together in the book corner and the children will choose if they would like to sing some songs or read a book together. When Lunch is ready we wash our own hands and faces using warm flannels, then then sit together to enjoy our home cooked lunch.
