Savernake Nursery

Our nursery in Savernake, near Marlborough, Wiltshire is situated in a magnificent rural area but still provides excellent access to the towns and villages nearby. The famous ‘Savernake Forest’ is right on our doorstep which allows the children in our care to enjoy wonderful walks in the country-side. The nursery is occupied in a converted barn in the middle of Warren Farm which has a working dairy farm surrounding the building and offers unique characteristics to the environment.

We are within easy reach of Marlborough, Hungerford, Pewsey and Newbury along with being conveniently positioned for the A4 and M4. For those of you who travel to work by train we are also only a few minutes away from Great Bedwyn train station.

Our nursery offers an abundance of indoor and outdoor space for the children to explore whilst having a wide range of stimulating toys and equipment to help the children reach their full potential when developing their learning further.

We treat all children as unique and know that they all develop their own individuality within their own time. When assigning a key person to your child we prefer them to choose the person, this will be done by who they bond with the most and this person will be responsible for carrying out ‘observations’ and completing the learning journey for your child, they can also be the main point of contact at the nursery for you. We know that children being in one room based purely on their age may not be the best way for them to progress further. We will treat the process holistically by looking into many different factors when placing a child in a room this will include the child his/herself, you as parents/carers, the child’s key person, room leaders and other staff who can help with the decision making. We conduct regular parent evenings as we feel that parent/nursery communication needs to be a major factor in your child/children being happy and settled with us as first and foremost you as parents/carers know your children best.

Testimonials

All of the staff at The Avenue made my son's transition to a new nursery as easy & painless as possible.  They clearly understood how much of a change it is and how tough it can be on the child. The days are structured to ensure the children are always enjoying whatever they are undertaking, and there is a clear & strong onus on playing outside - something was important to us as a family. My son's key worker is excellent at keeping me up to date with his activities, and I always get a clear run down of what he has been up to during the day from whichever member of staff is nearest the door at going home time. The Avenue is like a home from home and my son is coming on leaps & bounds whilst there. I cannot recommend it more highly.

We are very pleased with how our twins have settled in Ferns. The biggest strength we feel is the team here. Everyone seems to really know our children and are genuinely interested in their development and take ownership of the boys. The daily use of Facebook to keep parents up to date with updates and pictures is very helpful. It is a loving, caring, nurturing and encouraging environment and our boys have progressed really well. There is a very good balance of indoor and outdoor activity and my boys love their outdoor walks and trips to the woods. Guess the fact that we are continuing to bring our boys to The Avenue though we live and work in Swindon is indicative of the trust and faith we have in the team here. We would not hesitate to recommend the team at The Avenue to anyone.

Our children have both grown up through The Avenue, starting from the baby room Snowdrops and progressing through Buttercups and Bluebells to Ferns.  Each room has its own special feel and the teachers are all kind, caring and fun.  On the few occasions we have had a concern about one of our children’s wellbeing or development, the teachers have been very responsive and cooperative.  Our children have been very happy in attending The Avenue and have developed wonderful relationships with their friends and teachers alike.

About the Avenue Day Nurseries

Throughout our careers, Emma and I have worked in a variety of both childcare and Nursing roles. After having our own children we became aware of the lack of quality childcare within the area.
